MCB Future Week: 50+ events in June 11-14, 2019 – all taking place inside the Media City Bergen building, and all focused on topics that challenge our common future as it is driven and shaped by technology.

Future Week consists of a number of research seminars, workshops, breakfast ­meetings, popup-talks, entertainment, demos, presentations, debates, talks and discussions. The topics are mostly within the media cluster’s disciplines but also our partners from different industries and other future oriented environments in the region will contribute with activities this week.

Who should join: Everyone! Future Week is the place to be for journalists, coders, designers, developers, executives, ­students and scientists within media, tech­nology, art, design, finance and more during the days of 11-14 June 2019. Also the city’s population and visitors are warmly welcomed to the media cluster’s headquarters, ­Media City Bergen, this week.

Venue: Over 12 different venues in the building you will find a great variety of activities. Most of the events are completely free to attend.

Discover what’s brewing: We promise you first glimpse of new technology, things you’ve never seen, information you’ve never heard of, and lots of exciting experiences. Some of the more than 50 events will include talks, workshops and ­discussions on e-sports, influencers/youtubers, video workflows, automated media content, build your own AR-app, crowd­sourcing of weather data/build your own weather station, Machine Learning on the edge, virtual ­societies, computer art, ruling or not algorithms, blockchain, ­Power Point is dead - meet the new virtual presentations, AR-journalism, digital storytelling, slow-tv for the future, live podcasts and lots of entertainment, including a Future Party ­Friday 14th.

First and foremost: Get a first-hand experience of what the future might look like, and how YOU want to shape, form and influence the future.
