Time: 08:30 - 10:00
How do we build journalism that better reflects society, provides us with the information we need to participate, and inspires trust?
The process starts by reflecting on where journalism’s gone wrong, and the questions we never stopped to ask. Drawing on his 25 years’ of experience in major newsrooms, Shirish Kulkarni, award-winning journalist, researcher and community organizer, and also engaged in The Bureau of Investigative Journalism, will deliver the keynote at this breakfast meeting. From his research on news storytelling and his work as a community organiser, Shirish will outline the difficult questions we need to start addressing, and set out a framework from which we can build change.
You will also meet:
- Mads Ommundsen from Fædrelandsvennen that will present their award-winning story “Klasse 9C” that targets young readers.
- Frøy Gudbransen, Editor in Chief in BT, will discuss how BT works to reach “under-served” audiences.
